Pine Township

Established in 1796, Pine Township covers a 17 square miles area in Northern Allegheny County, and is named after Pine Creek. PineTownship is a home rule municipality governed by elected supervisors who are responsible for the overall operation of the Township. The current population of Pine Township is estimated to be around 9,800 which reflects an approximate growth rate of 28% over the last decadePine Township is located within the Gibsonia (15044) and Wexford (15090) postal areas primarily.  Their housing market continues to expand due to new construction and the demand for homes in this award winning school district.  Pine Township homes have maintained their value throughout the recent turbulent Real Estate years. 

 

A new Pine Township Community Center was opened last year at 100 Pine Park Drive in Wexford, PA. Parks and Recreation:Pine Township Park

Karrington Woods Park is situated in the Karrington Woods Plan of homes off Babcock Blvd. It encompasses 7 acres (2 acres of usable land) and features a multi-purpose field, soccer goals, a children’s play area, picnic tables, park benches and a basketball/hockey court.

Pine Community Park encompasses 105 acres (38 acres of usable land) and offers a fishing lake, nature trail, hiking trails, 2 pavilions, a children’s playground area and concession stand with restroom facilities. As for sports, there is a basketball and bocce court, numerous baseball and soccer fields and 2 sand volleyball courts.

Pine Haven Park encompasses 38 acres (2 acres of usable land) that includes a nature area and hiking trail.

North Park is a 3,075 acre County Park located in Hampton, McCandless and Pine Townships. Here you can enjoy biking, picnics, swimming, fishing, hiking on blazed trails and numerous playgrounds. There are also tennis courts, an ice skating rink and boat rentals.

 

  The Pine-Richland School District serves the townships of Richland and Pine. This rapidly growing school district includes 6 school buildings:

Pine Richland School District

Pine-Richland High School for grades 9-12 with an enrollment of 1,444 students (724-625-4640)

Pine-Richland Middle School for grades 7-8 with an enrollment of 732 students (724-625-3111)

Upper Elementary School for grades 4-6 with an enrollment of 1,068 students (724-443-1450)
