Richland Township

 

Richland Township, a community of over 9,000 people, is located in Northern Allegheny County, 18 miles from downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This semi-rural community features an 80 acre park, a variety of places to shop, beautiful neighborhoods and homes, top-notch schools, and direct access to major roadways -- State Routes 8 & 910 and PA Interstate 76. A new Lowe’s, Target, Kohl’s and a variety of restaurants have recently been built in Richland on the Route 8 corridor for added convenience.  Richland township housing options have been increasing steadily including maintenance free Patio Homes, Heartland and Ryan home communities and custom home developments. 

Richland Township has an 80 acre park located near Bakerstown that can be reached from Circle Drive or Van Velsor Drive. The park serves as the home field for the Pine-Richland Athletic Association’s baseball/softball program, the Pine-Richland Soccer League and the Keystone Rams Youth Football League. The park also offers picnic pavilions, playground equipment, a basketball court, hiking trails, and a sand volleyball court.

The Northern Tier Library is located behind the Richland Municipal Building on Dickey Road in Richland Township. In addition to a wide variety of books, magazines, video cassette tapes, audio cassettes, records, computers with word processing programs and Internet access, the library also offers story hours, reading clubs, youth and adult movies, holiday activities, telephone reference services, and additional adult programs. Pine-Richland High School for grades 9-12 with an enrollment of 1,444 students (724-625-4640)

Pine-Richland Middle School for grades 7-8 with an enrollment of 732 students (724-625-3111)

Upper Elementary School for grades 4-6 with an enrollment of 1,068 students (724-443-1450)
